This Program is designed for persons who can safely handle a handgun and
can demonstrate proficiency without coaching.
Why our Program?...
This course is dynamic not static. What this means for the participant is a program that is always improving,
making positive additions and changes to your carry permit training. Our course gives you additional reading
material and resources that provides the participant an opportunity to continue enhancing their knowledge
beyond our course. Each carry class utilizes three instructors whose diverse backgrounds in education,
firearms, and self defense, provides the participant with a comprehensive education and training program.
Our Course provides all required training, including firearm proficiency test at one location for one price!
In our new Educational Training Center, you will complete an A to Z program, exceeding the requirements
set forth by the Minnesota Personal Protection Act of 2003.
Three instructors will bring a unique and refreshing approach to your educational and training experience.
Coffee, refreshments, and lunch, with treats, is included in each class experience.

Program Objectives:
Upon completion of this program participants will be instructed on how to:
Identify differences between safety at home, in public, and at the range.
Handle misfires, hang fires, and squib loads.
Identify the ways to safely load and unload a handgun at home or transition from carry mode to transporting a firearm.
Perform fundamentals of pistol use.
Identify the steps to apply for a permit to carry in Minnesota.
Identify the difference between carrying and transporting.
Carry your firearm and holsters will be demonstrated.
Identify where a handgun may or may not be carried.
Identify things you can and cannot do when carrying.
Elements in avoiding conflict and danger.
Identify the Threat Progression System and its components.
Identify when lethal force is justified by Minnesota Statute 609.065.
Prepare for the situation where your handgun was needed for defense.
Demonstrate handgun proficiency by obtaining a minimum score of 70 (105 out of a maximum of 150 points), on a Transtar II target.
Participants will shoot a total of 30 rounds, from distances of 15, 25, and 50 feet.
Program Fee: $140.00
Participant Provides: Handgun, and 50 rounds of ammunition (30 rounds for the test). You will be given the opportunity
to warm up with a few rounds prior to the proficiency test.
